Shirin requested that I capture her friends enjoying themselves by the lake at Loch Lyme Lodge while she had her hair and makeup done. Amidst the picturesque setting, I found myself struggling to take photos while rowing on the lake, adding to the delightful chaos of the day.
The wedding ceremony took place on a charming family friend’s farm just outside town. As soon as I laid eyes on the location, I was instantly captivated by its open fields, breathtaking views, and the idyllic red farmhouse that stood as the backdrop for the ceremony. It was a truly beautiful setting.

Since Shirin’s family is Persian, they opted for a semi-traditional Iranian wedding ceremony, complete with a Sofreh Aghd. Instead of facing away from their guests as is the tradition, Sam and Shirin chose to sit on the opposite end of the table, facing their loved ones. Shirin’s brother, the officiant, delivered a beautiful speech that added to the ceremony’s emotional depth.
After the ceremony concluded, we embarked on our portrait shoot, unfortunately, which didn’t last as long as I had hoped despite to the beautiful lighting conditions. Nevertheless, we managed to capture some nice images. The reception was held at the picturesque Breakfast on the Connecticut, a charming B&B located outside town.
Melanie Voros of Blissful Beginnings Weddings & Event Design orchestrated all these events with exceptional coordination and efficiency. Melanie’s communication throughout the day was impeccable, and she ensured that everything ran smoothly.
