Dusty and Charlotte had a western wedding ceremony before a large congregation. Afterward, they celebrated with a traditional Korean wedding ceremony called a Paebaek. The Paebaek began with the groom’s parents seated on cushions behind a table, facing the newlyweds. The newlyweds performed a deep bow, starting standing and ending with them pressing their foreheads to their hands while kneeling on the floor. Traditionally, the groom’s parents would throw chestnuts into a blanket held by the bride and groom, symbolizing the number of children the couple would have. Naturally, Charlotte’s father threw several handfuls!
After the Paebaek, we moved to a nearby venue for the after party, which turned into a fun dance party.
