Shirin and Sam had an amazing wedding weekend in Lyme, New Hampshire – a small, quaint town along the Connecticut River with a population of about 1,800. Across the Connecticut is Vermont and to the south about 20 minutes is Dartmouth University in Hanover. Lyme is about 2.5 hours north of Boston.
Sam grew up in Lyme and much of his family still lives on the east coast. In fact, their rehearsal dinner (featured in this post), took place in the front yard of his family home, right in the middle of town across from the church!
So how did this LA based wedding photographer end up covering a wedding in Lyme, New Hampshire? Well amazingly, Shirin’s mother Afsaneh (aka Mrs. Nury) was my high school senior advisor way back in 2001! I went back in 2016 to give a talk about my work to the photography club where I reconnected with Afsaneh. Earlier this year, she contacted me out of the blue about covering her daughter’s wedding! This was truly an amazing connection and I was honored to do this for them!
There is quite a bit of content from this wedding weekend, so I’ve decided to separate this post into two parts. Part one is the rehearsal dinner (below), which took place at Sam’s parents house. Part two is dedicated entirely to Sam and Shirin’s Lyme New Hampshire wedding. Please be sure to check that out as well!
The rehearsal dinner was a very special event for Sam and Shirin, mostly because of the amazing contributions their guests brought to the event. Sam is a music producer and Shirin is a talent agent in the music industry, so as you can imagine, many of their guests are musicians who brought their own, very special personal touch to the rehearsal dinner. 🙂
